Pursuant to the Medical Act 1971, all practitioners are required to register with the Malaysian Medical Council (MMC) to practice medicine in Malaysia. General requirement to be eligible for registration is to possess a recognised basic degree as listed in Second Schedule of the Medical Act or havingpassed the Examination for Provisional Registration (EPR) Examination.

Registration for limited practice may be considered under 2 types of registration.
Registration for expert visit may be considered: Temporary Practicing Certificate
Registration for purposes of education/training may be considered under 2 types of registration.
Registration for research purposes may be considered: Full Registration (Foreigner)
Registration for humanitarian missions may be considered: Temporary Practicing Certificate
