About us:

The Brunei Medical Board (BMB) is one the board under the Boards Management Office (BMO) among others such as Nursing Board for Brunei.

BMB runs its office in accordance to the provision guided through Medical Practitioners and Dentists Act, Chapter 112, Laws of Brunei. Its main function is to maintain the register of medical and dental practitioners practising in the country. It also regulates the professional conduct and ethics of registered practitioners.

BMB is governed by elected Board Members comprising of a registrar and 10 registered medical practitioners.

Applicant who holds Basic Dental Degree (BDS, DDS, DMD, BDentSci etc) which are approved and accepted by Brunei Medical Board.

The application shall include the following documents:

(i) Proof of place of work in Brunei Darussalam

(ii) A copy of the basic medical or dental qualification (certificates of postgraduate qualifications must be included, if any)

(iii) A copy of certificate of registration with the professional medical or dental regulatory authority in the country of last practice

(iv) A certificate of good standing from the professional medical or dental regulatory authority in the last country of practice, the date of issue of which shall not be more than 6 months from the date of application

(v) For medical practitioners, written proof of post-housemanship clinical experience

(vi) For dentists, written proof of post-qualification clinical experience

(vii) A valid medical fitness certificate recognised by Ministry of Health, Brunei Darussalam.

(viii) Up-to-date Curriculum Vitae

(ix) 2 recent passport-sized photographs

Application Procedure:

Application for registration as medical practitioner or dentist in Brunei Darussalam shall be made using the appropriate form BMB Form 1, to the Registrar of Medical Practitioners and Dentists, Brunei Darussalam.

The successful applicant shall be required to call at the office of the Brunei Medical Board in person for formal registration, with the following documents:

Original copies of the following documents
- basic medical or dental qualification (certificates of postgraduate qualifications must be included, if any)
- certificate of registration with the professional medical or dental regulatory authority in the country of last practice
- certificate of good standing from the professional medical or dental regulatory authority in the last country of practice, the date of issue of which shall not be more than 6 months from the date of application
Identity Card, if applicable, and Passport for non-citizen
